RESOURCES

The creation of this category, titled ‘Resources,’ is a direct result of my experience as a visiting faculty for the Allied Design Studio – Landscape at Sir J.J. College of Architecture, Mumbai. During a field study of plants, a curious student asked about references to better understand the realm of Landscape Architecture. This inquiry made me realize that while there is an abundance of valuable resources available to students during their post-graduate years, those in their undergraduate studies often lack awareness of these resources. This section, ‘Resources,’ is a direct outcome of that realization.

In this section, I will be sharing my learnings and experiences derived from exploring diverse resources such as books, podcasts, series, courses, magazines, journals, etc., that provide valuable insight and enhance knowledge in the field of Landscape Architecture.

This section is specifically designed for students who are either curious about the field of Landscape Architecture or are in their formative academic years, navigating the complexities of their education. The aim is to provide a curated list of reliable resources that cover various sub-disciplines within Landscape Architecture—from sustainable design practices and urban planning to ecological restoration and site-specific analysis. By offering these recommendations, the section serves as a guide to help students make informed decisions about which areas to explore further in their studies, thereby fostering a deeper, more nuanced understanding of the field.

Furthermore, my hope is that the resources shared here will not only serve as references but will also encourage students to think critically, ask meaningful questions, and seek a more thorough understanding of the issues at play within Landscape Architecture. I envision this section as a tool to inspire self-guided learning, helping students make informed academic and professional decisions as they continue their journey. The resources listed here aim to inspire curiosity, spark new ideas, and ultimately guide students toward becoming well-rounded, thoughtful, and innovative Landscape Architects.

By subscribing to this section, we can collectively enhance our knowledge and engage in a continuous process of learning and growth. Let’s explore these resources together and contribute to the evolving discourse of Landscape Architecture.
